kirkbymoorside’s Favourite Pub

Refurbished in 2006 the George and Dragon Pub in the Town centre of Kirbymoorside has been updated in every way that matters whilst maintaining its original cosy feel. The bar with a beamed ceiling, blazing log fire (except in summer when there is a choice of outdoor seating areas) serves a number of well-kept hand-pulled real ales, selection of international lagers, ten wines by the glass and has an extensive stock of Malt Whiskies and liqueurs.

A heritage of Sport

Sports enthusiasts will find a collection of cricket, rugby and golf memorabilia particularly fascinating; photographs, autographs, prints and paraphernalia adorn every wall, and provide many opportunities for reminiscence and discussion, which can take place without the cacophony of fruit machines or juke boxes, as these are not to be found here.

The George and Dragon Hotel has been sympathetically refurbished so that it loses none of its “olde worlde charm” but can cater for the 21st century modern requirements. The entire bar and bistro area boasts a wireless internet connection which is free to use. The bar now also boasts an outstanding Italian coffee machine allowing you to enjoy an authentic cappuccino if it’s perhaps too early to sample one of our many hand pulled cask ales! We even make sure our smoking customers are still well looked after with an outdoor covered, lit and heated smoking area with tables and chairs.

If you don’t fancy the restaurant then you are sure to love the more relaxed & informal bistro area just off the bar. The bistro is the perfect place to enjoy a large hearty meal of local produce, enjoying a fine pint of our finest ale whilst being warmed by the large bar log fire.
